ABOUT

Hiker’s Hi!

A small project from Nara, Japan.

We walk. We stop. We say hi. Then we keep walking.

On the Yamanobe-no-Michi, the road moves through fields, orchards, small villages, and quiet countryside. Some parts of the route have been here for a very long time. Life along the road continues today.

We believe walking is a good way to get to know a place.

Take your time. Look around.

Learn a little about the road. Notice the seasons. Try something local. Stop for a while when you need a break.

Hiker’s Hi! is about discovering a place at walking pace. Not just the well-known sights, but the small things you might notice along the way.

A quiet view. A local shop. Something good to eat. A conversation with someone you meet.

Our first place: Yamanobe Pit Stop

Yamanobe Pit Stop is a small place for people walking the Yamanobe-no-Michi.

A place to get a drink, take a break, look around, and say hi before heading back onto the road.

We want it to feel simple and welcoming. A place where walkers can pause for a moment, whether they are visiting Nara for the first time or have known these roads for years.

More roads, more places.

Yamanobe Pit Stop is just the beginning.

In the future, we hope to create more Pit Stops on walking routes around Japan, together with people who know and care for their local places.

Each road will be different. Each place will have its own landscape, food, stories, and people.

We want to listen, learn, and share what makes each place worth walking.

And wherever the road takes us, there is always room for a friendly hello.

Walk. Stop. Say Hi.
